The MBBS Programme comprises three professionals - Preclinical, Paraclinical, and Clinical departments. Let's Talk about each of these in brief.

The Preclinical Department consists of anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry.These are the areas of practice in which the fundamentals of the human body and its composition are preached. The preclinical phase spread over the first two semesters of the MBBS course.

The Paraclinical Department consists of pharmacology, pathology, forensic medicine, and Microbiology. The Techniques of using the knowledge about the human body are taught here.

The Clinical Department consists of various sub-departments like general medicine, general surgery, pediatric, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics,anesthesiology, psychiatric, dermatology, TB and chest, Radiodiagnosis, ENT, Ophthalmology, and Dentistry. These are the specializations students can further opt for.
A message from the Dr. Vikas Sinha, Dean at Shantabaa Medical College and General Hospital -

There was a great need to have one well-equipped highly specialized Medical College and Hospital in the Amreli district. The poor patients of Amreli district earlier used to go to other places for their medical ailments. The Shantabaa Medical College of Gajera trust has fulfilled all the needs of poor patients to get specialized treatment by the fully qualified specialist doctors of different specialties at this place. It is an upcoming Medical College with a lot of promises.It is a very friendly Medical College for medical students and staff. The students are being taken care of with tender love and affection.



Dr. Vikas Sinha worked as an Assistant Professor and Associate Professor of ENT at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Sewagram Wardha, Maharashtra, before moving on to the Govt. of Gujarat Medical Education and Health Services as an Associate Professor, and later as Professor and Head of ENT department at BJ Medical College in Ahmedabad. He was Dean at MP Shah Govt. Medical College Jamnagar, Govt. Medical College Bhavnagar, and Medical Superintendent Sir T General Hospital, Govt. Medical College Bhavnagar in the beginning of 2008. (Gujarat). He created a unique Bronchoscopy paradigm and received the Senior Consultant Award from the Gujarat State ENT Association.
The college has 150 seats in total and offers the MBBS course. Various facilities and activities like laboratories, libraries, museums, group discussions, seminars,training, guest lectures, field visits, surveys, and practicals are organised for each of these subdepartments by SMCGH. They provide surroundings where each student can explore their area of interest and do further research.
To maintain a positive and ethical environment in institutions, various committees are formed by faculty and students. The committees make sure that every student and staff are treated well and get to explore all of their potential and interests. This also ensures better mental health for everyone.
