Mega Health Camp: Towards a Healthy Amreli
"Every life matters" we hear and say this all the time, but there are few who work towards making this statement true.
Few think about the needs of someone underprivileged or subaltern; they walk an extra mile and make efforts to
improve someone else's life. There are various villages in India where the basic facilities are still luxury, and there are
no formal educational institutions, welfare centers, or healthcare facilities. People are living in agony just because they
don't have easy access to solutions to their medical problems. Various citizens in remote villages don't even know
what they are diseased with, let aloneget it accuratelydetected and treated.
Shantabaa Medical College and General Hospital is one of the few that cares. We aim to bring the best medical
facilities to every corner and village in India so that no life needingmedical attention goes unattended. We work to
provide quality treatments at affordable or minimal prices. This institution, based in the Amreli district of Gujarat, is
helping and treating patients with all sorts of problems in rural areas. They have taken various initiatives to help needy
patients by organizing frequent programs in rural areas. Further, we conduct health camps with a specialized team of
doctors several times throughout the year.
Various departments at Shantabaa Medical College and General Hospital organize health camps to benefit all
sections of society and fulfil the envisioned objective of making healthcare available to everyone without
discrimination, even in far-flung interior areas. The Shantabaa Medical College and General Hospital recently
organized one health camp in honor of Smt. Nimishaben Suthar, amember of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly and
minister of state in the ministry of tribal development of Gujarat. We conducted the mega health camp in Bagasara
taluka of Amreli district on 3rd June 2022.
Bagasara mega health camp

of this mega camp. The camp was open to every town within 40- 50 km proximity. Awareness through local
newspapers, leaflets, and sarpanch meetings was spread about the happenings of this camp so that every person
in needcould reach out to the professionals on the given day
Mega Health Camp: Towards a Healthy Amreli
There was only one way to make this mega health camp a hit, and that was when theneedy could benefit from the
service by visiting the camp and getting a cure for theirhealth problems. So, while the team, equipment, and facilities
were all set to serve, people turned up in numbers, making this camp a success.
More than 1450 patients came in for a consultation with all sorts of health conditions fromthe village and nearby
areas. The team of doctors looked upon their medical conditions and problems, and other processes like scans and
tests were done to diagnose Issues inrequired cases. In addition, 73 X-Ray scans and 65 ECGs were held, and more
than 150 lab testswere carried out.

departmentslike:

It gives us immense pleasure to make a difference in a few people's lives, however little or big it may be. The patients
getting better with medical attention and care at extreme times motivates us to further work towards our goal of a
healthy rural India. Bagasara is just one village out of many, and there are many more villages and areas to be reached
out to and many more people in need of medical attention. They are on our list, one campat a time, because every life
mattersto those who care.
Not only necessary treatments and diagnoses are made, but the villagers are also educated andmade aware of
preventive care and basic hygiene thatshould be followed everywhere. We envision being able to hold many such
camps in the future for super speciality treatments and overall welfare and proper guidance to one and all.
