Dermatology is one of the fastest advancing branches of medicine with various subspecialties like clinical dermatology , dermatopathology, paediatric dermatology, dermatosurgery , cosmetic dermatology, trichology and aesthetic medicine. Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin, nails, hair and its diseases. It is a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. The department aims to impart training to the students to diagnose and manage common skin diseases. The speciality of Dermatology , Venereology and Leprology not only deals with management of various diseases but also offers promising treatment through advances in cosmetic dermatology , dermatosurgery for various conditions , thus changing lives of patients in more ways than one.

TEACHING/TRAINING ACTIVITIES
The curriculum has been prepared in pursuance of MCI regulations and commences in the 3rd semester of the MBBS program as allied subject of Medicine and continues up to 9th semester. The students are posted in batches for clinical training to learn clinical skills, for the duration prescribed by the MCI, and encouraged to practice these skills on patients under direct guidance of faculty. Lectures, small group discussion and problem based tutorial are also organized for development of comprehension, analysis and communication skills. Students are also encouraged to participate in regular bedside clinic and integrated seminar, case presentation skill sessions are also organized for undergraduate students.
