Overview
Pathology is scientific way of study of disease/disorder. Pathology is a branch of medicine, which links basic sciences with clinical symptoms and signs. It helps the medical students to understand the basic mechanism and pathophysiology of diseases. The diagnostic sub-specialties within this Department include Histopathology, Cytopathology, Hematology, Immunopathology and Clinical Pathology, immunopathology hematology, experimental pathology. The Pathology Department is one of the academic departments of the College of Medicine involved in connecting the pre-clinical stage with the clinical stage through teaching courses that enable the student to identify the causes of diseases and how to diagnose them. Now departmental laboratory known as clinical laboratory medicine.
VisionThe primary function of the department is to teach pathology to II year MBBS students. Apart from this, the dental physiology conducts teaching for BDS and diploma as well as nursing students. The dept is also imparting postgraduate training for MD (pathology) students. Department of pathology is a service department. Histopathology, cytology, clinical pathology, hematology & blood bank fall under the purview of this department.

- The Hematology and Clinical Pathology services include complete hemogram, hemoparasite detection, ESR, bone marrow aspiration and biopsy, reticulocyte count, basic coagulation workup, urine routine and microscopic examination and fluid cell counts.

- To set up an advanced diagnostic facility for coagulation and bleeding disorders.
- Establish immunofluorescence laboratory for Dermatopathology and Nephropathology.
