Pharmacology is branch of medicine refer as science of drugs including their origin,
composition, pharmacokinetics, therapeutic use, and toxicology, the properties and reactions
of drugs especially with relation to their therapeutic value. The department envisages the
application of pharmacodynamics to therapeutics and to acquire the basic principles necessary
for the rational use of drugs in daily practice.

To provide environment for learning and education of pharmacology in integrative manner to
acquire the knowledge, competencies and skills to practice as pharmacology in education and
research, prepares students intellectually and ethically as leaders in the profession and to
optimize health and wellness for promotion the profession and serve society. To be a
distinguished unit, in the field of pharmacology by providing excellent teaching and training of
the undergraduates.

TEACHING & TRAINING ACTIVITIES:
The teaching/training activities of the department include didactic lectures, demonstrations, practical sessions in experimental, clinical pharmacology and pharmacy. As per curriculum is developed by MCI.
Students will be encouraged to develop analytical and comprehension ability by way of visit to hospital wards and interactive bedside tutorial for understanding pharmacological basis of signs and Management of common health diseases as well as rational drug therapy.

To established state of art of pharmacology department to provide excellent learning, teaching and research facilities.
To establish clinical pharmacology center and pharmacoviglilance center (ADR monitoring center).
